Fall= Great Fishing & Great Events
The crew at Tuckaseegee Fly Shop is ready for Fall! Fall means great fishing conditions with cooler water temperatures that are more comfortable for trout. October is one of our favorite times to fish our Smoky Mountain streams because the trout are so active and eager to take a well-presented fly.
With the official start of fall today, it seems like the perfect time to remind our friends about the Grand Re-Opening of The Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians new Bryson City home on Saturday, September 24th as well as the 2nd Annual Smoky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival happening on Saturday, October 8th in Downtown Bryson City.
Fly Fishing Hall of Fame Induction and Fly Fishing Museum Grand Re-Opening Details-
Join us for a double celebration as we welcome the inaugural inductees into the Museum's Hall of Fame. The 2016 inductees include Jim Casada (Communications), Walter Cary (Crafts), Wanda Taylor (Recreation) and Phil Bracewell (Conservation).

Following the Hall of Fame luncheon, we'll celebrate the grand-reopening of the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians at it's new home in Bryson City.
2nd Annual Smoky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival Details-
The Simms 2017 Line will be displayed along with the Zero Sweep Pack Lineup from Umpqua. Representatives from Scott Fly Rods, Echo, Waterworks Lamson, RIO, Redington, Sage, Flymen Fishing Company and more will be in attendance. The folks from Flood Tide Co. as well as Crooked Creek Holler will be there with full lineups of apparel. Fly rods on demo will be from Scott Fly Rods, Sage, Echo, Walter’s Fly Rods, and Mystic Fly Rods. Local Fly Tyers will be on display along with casting demonstrations by Scott Pro Bobby Bennett. Licensed anglers will be able to demo rods on the new Delayed Harvest water in the heart of downtown Bryson City that will be stocked on October 6th!
