Bryson City,

North Carolina

Bryson City is located about an hour west of Asheville, NC.  It has the Nantahala National Forest at it's front door and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at it's back.  These two national treasures, along with state waters, puts Bryson City near thousands of miles of rivers, creeks, and streams to fish.  With Fontana Lake also located close by, you have a very diverse fish population that consists of:

Brown Trout           Smallmouth Bass               Muskie                 Channel Catfish

Rainbow Trout       Largemouth Bass               Crappie                Carp

Brook Trout            White Bass                          Bluegill

Palomino Trout      Kentucky Spotted Bass     Yellow Perch

Steelhead                Walleye                                Flathead Catfish

With a community that welcomes visitors with open arms, Bryson City exudes small town mountain charm.  Whether you are looking for a cool mountain stream to enjoy, a hike on a trail, or just relax and enjoy a meal downtown- Bryson City has it all.

We at Tuckaseegee Fly Shop are proud to call this community our home, and look forward to seeing you, whether in our shop, out on the water, or just walking around town, we welcome you.
