1st Annual Smoky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival

Out of ICAST/IFTD 2015 came many new products and lines for anglers around the globe. The best idea/product that came from attending the worlds largest fishing trade show was the SMFF. While attending an event hosted by Simms Fishing Products Bobby, our beautiful wives and my self, brainstormed some ways to celebrate the Simms 2016 products coming to Tuck Fly Shop. We did not like the idea of simply setting up a little table in the shop all day....We like to do things big!

With so many new fishing opportunities coming to the Bryson City and Swain County area it only made sense to set up a festival, celebrating fishing in Bryson City Swain County, and the brands that make Tuckaseegee Fly Shop. The idea was welcomed from town officials and a street was closed with the help of the folks at the Great SMoky Mountain Railroad. Thus is born the 1st Annual (which means we want to do it again next year!) Smoky Mountain Fly Fishing Festival.

The Simms 2016 Lineup will be displayed along with the new Zero Sweep Line from Umpqua. The folks from Flood Tide Co as well as Crooked Creek Holler will be in attendance with full lineups of apparel. Fly rods on Demo will be from Scott Fly Rods, Sage, and Echo. Local Fly Tyers will be on display and casting demontrations from Mac Brown and others. Licensed Anglers will be able to demo rods on the new Delayed Harvest in the heart of downtown Bryson City that will be stocked October 7th!
